Weekday Routine– freshman year

I usually woke up around 7:00 or 7:30 a.m., which was considered pretty early compared to most other students. While the dorms were still quiet, I’d go through my morning routine: getting changed, washing my face, and brushing my teeth.

By around 7:45 a.m., I’d head to the dining hall for breakfast. I usually spent about 20 to 30 minutes in the dining hall — either chatting with friends or just quietly enjoying my breakfast. By the time it was around 8:10 to 8:20 a.m., I’d head back to my room to grab my books, fill up my water bottle, and get ready for the day. It was just enough time to make it to class right before the 8:30 a.m. start.

Each student had a slightly different class schedule, but the maximum number of classes in a day was four. On Mondays and Thursdays, I had a full schedule with all 4 classes, while Tuesdays and Fridays were much lighter — just 2 classes on those days. Wednesdays were somewhere in between.

The first class of the day lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes, and the remaining blocks were each 1 hour and 15 minutes. After the first block, we always had a school-wide meeting, which was a time for announcements, speakers, or special events.

School officially ran from 8:30 a.m. – 3:25 p.m., but because of the rotating schedule and the way classes were spread out, every day felt a little different.
